Allison Stevens, MS, RD, LD is a food, nutrition & culinary expert and founder of Healthy Living, Healthy Flavors, LLC. She is a freelance culinary nutrition consultant, author, speaker and recipe developer and is often quoted in the media.
Allison has helped people achieve their nutrition goals for over ten years and has a background in the culinary arts. In previous work as a chef, she created delicious and nutritious meals for guests at premier health spas, including Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires and Champneys in Tring, England. As a private chef, Allison helps clients achieve their dietary goals without sacrificing texture or taste.
As a nutrition specialist at the Almond Board of California, Allison planned and coordinated tradeshows, symposia and marketing events to promote the nutrition research and taste benefits of the world’s healthiest nut.
Currently, Allison helps clients make small lifestyle changes, leading to an overall healthier life. Her areas of expertise include weight management, heart health, culinary nutrition and sports nutrition. She believes proper nutrition begins with flavor and aims to show clients that healthful eating can taste good (otherwise it will never stick!).
Allison credits her energy and zest for life to her dedication to staying active & enjoying good food. She regularly attends reformer pilates and Zumba dance classes. And she loves anything that gets her outdoors, including hiking, scuba diving, skiing, and kayaking. Allison’s hobbies include visiting the local farmers’ markets, spending time with friends and family, and traveling the world- recent trips include South Africa, Japan & Argentina.
Allison graduated with honors with a Bachelors Degree in Culinary Nutrition from Johnson & Wales University and holds a Masters in Nutrition Communications from Tufts University. She completed her Dietetic Internship at New England Medical Center in Boston, MA. Allison currently lives in Austin, TX where she enjoys the fabulous weather and finding the best fresh produce, BBQ and local wines Texas has to offer.
